Do you love to drink wine but want to learn how to taste wine like a professional?

Join Geneva Wine Society’s wine tasting basics class and meet the world of wine in a special in-person tasting that will help you understand the “how’s” and “why’s” of wine in a fun and very enjoyable way.

During this unique class, you will learn to taste like a professional, using your sight, sense of smell, and your taste buds to identify differences in colour, body, aroma, acidity, sweetness, and tannins. You will learn the common expressions used to describe wine and gain a fuller understanding of what is meant when a wine is described as “structured” or has a “backbone”.

We will talk about the basic rules of food & wine pairing and the key characteristics of major wine varieties and regions and I will share with you tips about buying, storing, and serving wine all the while you expand your palate and discover new favourites.

This class is for novice as well as seasoned wine lovers and by its end you will be able to express yourself better and truly enjoy what’s in your glass.

We will taste 6 very interesting wines from various regions from around the world and pair them with cheese and other nibbles.

Learning about wine has never been easier or more fun!
