42nd Impact for Breakfast Geneva:

Creating Social Impact At Scale With Science And Innovation To Solve Child Hunger

TAPF was set up in India at the turn of the millennium to end hunger, notably in the classroom. Starting with 1500 children, the Foundation today serves nearly 2 million children daily with a freshly prepared, hot, nutritious meals at school.

The ‘Food For Education’ program strives to ensure that no child is deprived of an education for lack of a good meal. Over the years, the Foundation has served over 4 billion meals and is the world’s largest program of its kind. During the pandemic, the Foundation ensured food security for millions and has served over 200 million meals from March 2020 onwards in the form of cooked meals, dry grocery kits and happiness kits.

Essentially, the story of Akshaya Patra is one about the use of precision science and engineering, applying complex enterprise and management systems to achieve a mode of service entirely inspired by spirituality and social objectives. The Foundation combines these three elements to serve with speed and at scale; today, they seek to create deeper and wider engagement with multiple stakeholders around the globe.

One of AP’s proudest USP’s is their ability to manufacture quality meals with utmost hygienic practices at scale in 60 centralized (and de-centralized) green kitchens across 14 states in India, serving 20’000 schools every day.

Come and join us to learn more about the success story of The Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF), the world’s largest non-profit school meal provider.
