DONA Gives Impact Hub Geneva a Taste of Her Delicious, Eco-Friendly Coffee From Coffee Farms Owned Exclusively By Women

By Iryna Dzyubynska

Feeling a bit snoozy in the morning? Need your morning dosage of caffeine to wake you up and fuel your day?

Then, Dona’s delicious, eco-friendly, high-quality speciality coffee service at the Hub is here for you from Monday to Friday, including Fridays’ Café & Croissant.

Dona presented her magnificent association, DONA Coffee to the Impact Hub Geneva community’s delight on the launch event on 21 June, 2022, at 13h30. Telling the stories behind each of the women who grow coffee for her, giving everyone the opportunity to taste for free all 5 different flavors of her coffee. Most importantly presenting the eco-friendly compostable capsules, which also will be offered by Impact Hub Geneva from now on, completely replacing the non-compostable ones.

DONA coffee was officially launched in Switzerland a few month ago on the International Women’s Day, 8 of March. DONA sources high-quality Specialty Coffee, uniquely and exclusively from women-owned coffee farms. Its founder, Elisa Dot Bach, who had a career in coffee at Nestlé, was motivated to create a coffee company that reflected her values, a company with a purpose at its core.

Bach was shocked to discover that women are largely invisible in the coffee industry: 70% of the work done in the field to make our cup of coffee is carried out by women, but only a very small percentage of the coffee farms are owned by them. The motivation to change this situation is DONA’s mission: to recognize, support, and celebrate the great work of women in the coffee farms and inspire others to follow their example. DONA also corresponds closely with IWCA (International Women’s Alliance).

“I have virtually met many of the women who grow DONA’s coffee, and I am fascinated by their determination to create a better future for their families and for their communities. I have become really close with some of them and this is a very rewarding experience for me. I am determined to make DONA business a success that has a real impact on them,” said Bach.

DONA’s coffee, though, coming from international origins, Columbia, Brazil, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Indonesia, is only sold in Switzerland. For more information, please visit: www.dona.coffee
